Character Profile

  • Appearance

Seth is a tall man with dark features – tanned skin, black hair, and dark brown eyes. His face is oblong in shape, sporting a defined, intensely expressive - though somewhat jutting - brow and high cheekbones with a defined chin but a weak jaw line. Narrow, arching brows rim round, dark eyes as well as a broad but long nose. Rarely clean shaven, Seth is most often seen with a well-groomed, but short, beard generally trimmed to give a little more strength to his jaw. He physically well-built specimen and in peak physical condition due to his line of work (and sense of vanity, prompting an almost religious exercise routine), and has a cock-sure and domineering manner of movement.

  • Personality

In general day to day interactions Seth is typically maintains the facade of an amicable man with an easy sense of humor, though there is an undeniably rough layer existing just beneath the surface. He is self-assured and cocky almost to the point of arrogance, traits that seep into visibility even in the way he moves. A pragmatist by nature, Seth possesses a cunning intelligence that lends him the ability to swiftly analyze and react to almost any situation that arises; combined with a naturally domineering personality, this makes him a rather natural leader, and contributes to his common tendency to step forward and take charge in absence of any other authority figures. Likewise, these traits frequently lead to abrasive encounters between himself and those boasting higher rank, regardless of whether these individuals are counted among his own pack or merely within his department of law enforcement.

Seth is an intensely protective man, and while he displays little to no regard for those outside of his circle (making his reasons for becoming a police officer rather questionable) he will resort to any means – even those which are morally ambiguous – to defend his pack and family. His sense of loyalty tends to run on a tiered system, with kin and adopted family the first to receive his support and protection; though, this does lessen his devotion to his pack as a whole as displayed by his drive to reach the top.

An intensely driven and ambitious individual, Seth is easily capable of fluid shifts between passivity and brutality. In his mind, each are tools to be used as necessary – though he is arguably more inclined towards belligerence than diplomacy.

  • Shifted Appearance

Coat Color: Gray/Brown phased black Eye Color: - Red/Brown

Description: In his lupine guise, Seth is heavily reminiscent of his human figure. He is a powerfully built specimen with a blocky head, thick muzzle, and a broad, scarred chest. His coat is thick and richly colored, comprised primarily of an amalgamation of blacks and deep, earthy variations of brown. In the right light, hues of red-orange and blonde become visible within the darker portions of his fur, and his shoulders and various other regions of his figure are highlighted by lines of silver-gray.

  • History

Hailing from several generations of werewolves within the Savage River Pack, and a family partially responsible for building the town, Seth has lived the majority of his life in Dawnbreak. His upbringing was fairly uneventful – at least for a werewolf – and (at least in his own mind) there was little that particularly stood out. Like many of his kind, his parents existed within normal society while (mostly) guarding the secret of their origins. Both of his parents held up normal jobs, his mother making a simple living as a waitress while his father worked on the police force. While his mother was a fairly gentle soul until provoked, Seth’s father was a hardass often prone to physical expressions of displeasure – and by the time Seth had entered into his mid teenage years, violent conflicts between the two were not entirely uncommon.

Insofar as Seth’s experience went, this was nothing particularly unusual. Many of his pack friends seemed to have similar relationships with their parents, and he never held grudges against his father for long. Despite their rather frequent scrapes of violence, Seth maintained a close-knit relationship with his father and spent his youth striving to emulate the man in certain aspects – an ambition that eventually led to his entry into the police force.

After graduating from high school Seth temporarily left Dawnbreak to attend university on athletic scholarship, double majoring in Criminal Law and Psychology with a minor degree in Philosophy. He completed the first half of his degree work in Nevada before finishing out in California. Upon graduating, Seth was extended offers to draft with MLB teams; he wrestled with whether or not to abandon the pack and pursue a career as a pro, but eventually ended up returning to his hometown. During this time he completed training at the police academy and enlisted with the local sheriff's department.

"Nah, bud," Seth shook his head in response to Joey while they both watched Logan ride ahead, "he'll wind down soon enough," he shrugged. As Blitz moved ahead he nudged Convict on, though he trailed behind the other two for a bit as they made their way toward the forest trail.

  2. Seth Redford

It had been a while since Seth had last seen Rylee - long enough that he was still unaware of his brother's most recent 'accident'. But with his own wife in mid pregnancy herself, the question brought an immediate connection and Seth's gaze swung towards his brother with a smirk already snaking across his features. Naturally antagonism leaped straight to the tip of his tongue, but for once when Logan glared at him Seth decided not to go there.

He did, however, chuckle audibly as he lifted a foot into the stirrup and swung himself atop Convict, "Can't hardly blame the boy for noticing a rack like that," Seth smirked over at his brother, "besides it ain't like you were a saint at his age with that stack of magazines under your mattress, eh?"

Seth finished grooming and tacking first - mostly because he'd been at this long enough to know what was really needed. His nephew was still enamored with his new steed, though, and extremely attentive to every detail. It was a good thing. Meant he'd be a fine horesman when he came of age.

"Bring him on out Bud," Seth grinned when Joey announced that he was done. They led their horses out to the yard to wait on Logan, "He's just got all the excuses today doesn't he," Seth murmured to his nephew, giving him a playful nudge in response to Logan's quip.

"Blitz could haul my truck if we strapped him to it bud," Seth answered to dismiss the concern, "you and a few extra pounds in a pack are nothing to him."

As Joey dashed off he glanced at his brother, "What is it they say about kids being your karma?" he smirked at Logan, "Maybe you shouldn't have been such a little shit when you were his age," he tacked on, going ahead and moving out of reach.

"I love you too Ally," he smiled as they parted, "shouldn't be too long out. Just have to make sure the animals are in and the pipes aren't going to freeze up."

  6. Seth Redford

"Yeah. I'll have my phone with me," he nodded, "I know you're not going far but be careful anyway, Never know when some asshole is going to blaze by thinking his four wheel drive means he's safe on ice."

"I think they'll be fine alone for a few minutes," Seth answered, "they're still sleeping, the dogs are here, the weather is shit and Vital warded the place to the teeth. Even if you take your sweet time driving there and back it shouldn't take more than twenty minutes tops," he said as he forced himself to get out from under the warm blanket they'd been sharing, "you should probably grab Jazz while you're over to," Seth added as an afterthought, referring to his dad's ugly terrier dog.

  8. Seth Redford

Seth groaned as he read the alert that popped up on the screen, then looked out the window to see the snow fall. He was going to have to work in this shit. He opened up his browser to read up a little more.

"I doubt they will," he murmured, "by the looks of it the storms already hitting Corinth. They're not gonna be back in town any time soon," he sighed and stretched, "you should head that way before it gets any worse out. I'm gonna have to go out to the stables... and our grandmothers are probably gonna need a hand too."

  9. Seth Redford

He made a soft sound in the back of his throat, expression briefly puzzled though he didn't speak again for the moment.

  10. Seth Redford

"Wait, he did what?" Seth asked as if he wasn't sure he'd heard her say what she had.
