Dragons

THIS WORLD WILL END IN FLAMES

"Possibly among the fiercest and most terrifying of all supernaturals is the dragon. These creatures change form at will, able to blend in with humans perfectly as well as becoming large, fire-breathing monsters. They are very powerful, and incredibly rare. Even the most experienced hunters fear crossing one of these monsters."

- excerpt from records of a forgotten hunter

ABOUT

The Ancient Dragons were very powerful creatures, hunted so intensely that they were killed off near the end of the Medieval Era. Their human form is impossible to tell apart from a normal human, and their dragon form is usually very large and thick-skinned, so killing these creatures was no easy task.

They tend to stay near mountains and caves, happy to mingle with humans but more prone to making their nests in more secluded, difficult to find areas.

Dragons are never born in human form. Each dragon is hatched from an egg, and are not able to access their human forms until they reach the ages of 4-6.

BIRTH

Dragons can not be created, they can only be born. Although most dragons are born from two dragon parents, in very rare cases, a dragon may be born between a dragon and another creature, whether it is a human or another supernatural. These "half-breeds" are often regarded as second class citizens in their society, often smaller and somewhat weaker than their pure bred counterparts.

DRAGON EGGS

A female dragon, when pregnant, typically lays only one egg at a time. This egg takes three full months to hatch, and must be kept in a warm environment. Due to this, most dragons are born during the summer months, and dragons born during the winter months are considered to be good luck to their kind. Frozen dragon eggs are often used by witches in certain spells and rituals, and are very expensive - they are also very dangerous to be caught with. If a dragon catches you with a dragon egg, they are very likely to kill you.

FAMILY LIFE

Dragons are very proud creatures who honor their heritage and lineage. They tend to travel with their families, and often either live with them or live very near to them. Family life is very important to dragons, who are on the constant lookout for each other. Many of them, male and female, are fierce warriors, trained to fight in both their dragon form and human form from a very young age.

GENERAL

Elemental Control - In addition to being able to breathe fire in their dragon forms, dragons are able to control fire in both their dragon and human form. They are able to withstand very high temperatures.

Endurance - Dragons are among the most difficult supernatural creature to kill, able to heal very quickly. A dragon can only be killed by a weapon made of gold.

Bird's Eye View - By closing their eyes and focusing on their surroundings, dragons are able to view the area they are in as if they were viewing from the sky, able to see in detail.

Telepathic Communication - Dragons are able to communicate with other dragons telepathically.

WINTER DRAGONS

Rare dragons born in winter are also able to withstand freezing temperatures, and have a small amount of control over ice.
