Magic Hands v2.0

Recommended Posts

Charlotte threw something at Dagonet as she was coming up behind him expecting that maybe for once she'd catch him off guard and hit him in the back of his head. When he caught it, she frowned and moved to lean up against the desk. "Always magical," she wiggled her fingers at him.

"I wonder why that is," Dagonet retorted in a dry tone, hooking his foot under the handle of the deep bottom drawer in his desk and pulling it open to briefly reveal the clustered collection of objects she'd thrown at him in the couple of years they'd worked together - at least, those that he'd kept.

"Daw," she cooed. "And I thought you were all steel and no soft spots," she reached in and grabbed out a small snow globe, one of the first things she had thrown at him. "Makes me think you might actually kinda like me magic hands," she smiled to him as she played with the snow globe in her hand.

Charlotte smiled to him leaning in closer to him. “Well, I was thinking. After we go out to investigate the possible location for that blood trafficking ring maybe you can come over to my place for dinner. You can say hi to the cat,” she smirked to him.

When they got to the car Dagonet slid into the passenger seat. As they started to pull out onto the streets he took a few moments to actually read the brief report on the tip they were investigating. Unfortunately it didn't say much. Whoever had called the tip in had remained anonymous.

Charlotte directed them toward the Projects where the tip would lead them too. Once they were there and parked. she checked her gun before they got out of the car. "So this is the building. Supposedly the source of some bleeders."

"It looks like its got some potential," Dagonet observed as he looked over their surroundings, "it would be pretty easy for them to get a victim in and out without anyone seeing anything."

He checked his own weapon over, glancing over to make sure she was ready before they both got out of the car.

They approached the building cautiously. As they found an entrance they went in cautiously. Charlotte pulled a flashlight out of her pocket and Helen it above her gun as they moved in further. “One of the first times I was in a place this creepy was when I got turned into a shapeshifter,” she didn’t talk much about how she got turned.

Dagonet glanced briefly at his partner when she made that remark. Among werewolves there wasn't much taboo about discussing how they'd been turned - a lot of them would drop it in casual conversation with other supernaturals. The same wasn't true of skinwalkers. So despite being curious about it, Dagonet had never asked.

"It is pretty creepy," he muttered in agreement.

Didn't help that they both knew if the tip turned out to have merit and something went wrong, both of them could end up getting bled out.

Charlotte kept them moving and as they walked she started to smell the distinct stench of dry blood. "Seems like we may have gotten a valid tip," she whispered to him as they pressed further into the building. They were careful to verify rooms were clear before moving on because they didn't want to get surprised from behind.

He nodded to indicate that he'd smelled it to. They began to move more cautiously, alternating in clearing any rooms they passed as they drew nearer and nearer to where the smell seemed to be coming from. After a minute or two Dagonet stopped sharply, holding up a hand to signal for Charlotte to listen - he wasn't certain but he thought he'd heard whispering.
